About OUR DATA

LONESTAR Education Reports is a website developed by the Texas Education Agency (TEA) that provides easy access to Texas K -12 and higher education data. It displays information about Texas public schools using charts and graphs for the five most recent years of available data.

LONESTAR allows policy makers, educators, the media, and the general public to view and interpret key education data.

LONESTAR is developed and maintained by the TEA's Texas Public Education Information Resource (TPEIR) Unit of the Information Analysis Division in the Department of Assessment, Accountability, and Data Quality. TPEIR is a collaborative project between the TEA and the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board (THECB).
